Jamshedpur, Nov 11: Students of Sona Devi University were felicitated for their success at Technica-5, the technical fest organized by the Engineering and IT Department of Arka Jain University, Jamshedpur.

The event celebrated the achievements of participants who showcased innovation and technical prowess through various competitions.

At a ceremony held in the Vivekananda Auditorium of Sona Devi University, Registrar Dr. Gulab Singh Azad congratulated the faculty and students for their accomplishment.

He said that the fest featured model exhibitions and robotics contests, offering participants a platform to demonstrate creativity and technical skill.

Over 3,000 participants from three states—Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha—took part in the fest.

Sona Devi University’s School of Electrical Engineering secured the first position, emerging as the top-performing team among the competitors.

The fest was inaugurated by Captain Amitabh Deep, Head of Tata Steel Foundation, while expert judges from reputed technical institutes evaluated and selected the best models.

Dr. Azad shared that a team of Diploma (3rd semester) students achieved this success by developing a metal-detecting robot, which earned them top honours.

He extended congratulations to students Aman Ravidas, Shubhodip Roy, Gautam Kumar Mahli, Swarnendu Kuliya, and the department head, Pooja Tiwari, for guiding the team.

Sona Devi University also excelled in cultural events, securing first place in both solo and group dance competitions. Students Aman Ravidas and Rashmi Karmakar were specially congratulated for their performances.

Moreover, the  B.Tech 3rd semester students showcased a creative model demonstrating electricity generation from waste.
